How This Calculator Works

Electricity bills in Australia consist of two main charges: a usage charge (per kWh consumed) and a daily supply charge (a fixed fee for being connected to the grid). Usage rates vary significantly by state, retailer and time of use. Solar panels can dramatically reduce your bill by offsetting daytime usage. Feed-in tariffs for excess solar exported to the grid typically range from 5-12 cents per kWh.
