How much long service leave do I get?

Most Australian states provide 8.667 weeks (2 months) of LSL after 10 years of continuous service with the same employer. Victoria provides 6.067 weeks after 7 years. South Australia and the NT provide 13 weeks after 10 years. Rates vary by state.

Can I get pro-rata long service leave?

Accepted Answer

In most states, yes. If you leave after 5-7 years (depending on state), you are entitled to a pro-rata payout of your accrued LSL. In NSW and ACT, pro-rata applies after 5 years. In VIC, QLD, WA, SA, and TAS, it applies after 7 years.
